See the picture above? Funny that that was automatically selected for my blog about the SCD diet, in which no grains are allowed. But we have to look at bread and smell bread from time to time. So I'll leave it there for now...
Helpfull links:
- Comfytummy.com http://www.comfytummy.com/ Check the recipies on this blog. This is where I found many of the first recipies I used including, coconut flour drop biscuits (see link for the coconut flour I use below), scd cupcakes, butter cream icing and scd white chocolate.
- SCD Bakery: http://www.nuttybakery.com/ I haven't tried this bakery yet but I am very excited to try it soon!

- SCDlifestyle.com http://scdlifestyle.com/ This site has a lot of good advice. They advise many supplements which I have not tried, but you can try if you are interested or feel they are necessary and or helpful.
- Breaking the vicious cycle book and website: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/legal/listing/ (I have not purchased the book, but I have used the website extensively. I feel like I should have purchased the book though because the information from the website has helped me so much) (See link below).
Or just Google search: type in the food you are wondering about and "SCD legal" I love that the term is legal. It sounds so official.
- Recipies for the SCD Diet Cookbook. My husband purchased this cook book for me when I started the diet. My husband, myself as well as my mom have made several recipies from it. I purchased another copy for my mom for Christmas at her request. I have made the chicken stock , and raisin/carrot salad; and my husband has made a couple of baked fish recipies and my mom made the avacado soup for me when I was recovering from a surgery. They were all amazing!

Recipies for the SCD Diet Cookbook
Pinterest - Look up scd recipies. Be carefull though many of them are just ideas for recipies that can be converted to SCD. Check ingredients closely. You will become a master at substitution. anything that calls for sugar... replace with honey. Anything that calls for flour, replace with almond flour or coconut flower. Milk, yogurt, sour cream, or cream cheese; replace with some form of SCD yogurt.
Items I have tried that are not legal:
Garbonzo beans, canned - they seem to be okay for me if they are organic and only one or two ingredients listed.
Kombucha tea - There wasn't much Kombucha being made when Elaine did her resaerch, therefore it's not listed. However, when I started I did not initially make the yogurt. I read up on Kombucha and decided to give it a try for the good bacteria. It was a hit! I recommend GT's Raw Kombucha. You can buy it in single servings at grocery stores like Kroger or in bulk at Amazon. I have tried both of the flavors listed below and several others and I often drink 1/3 of a bottle a day. I love this stuff! I think the extra pricing here is due to shipping, as it needs to be refrigerated and the bottles are glass. This stuff is so good for you! It's like bottled gold. The taste is like a sparkling beverage, similiar to beer, but much lighter...maybe a fruity sparkling water with a hint of a vinegary taste. You get used to it and the health benefits are worth the taste and cost to me. (See link below)
